William L. Coker, Jr, M.D. was born and raised in a small farming town in South Carolina. After graduating from Kingstree High School he enrolled at the University of South Carolina where he completed undergraduate studies before earning his medical degree at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. After a rotating internship in Spartanburg, S.C. he served as a physician in the Navy joining an elite group of doctors who made extended patrols on the Polaris submarines.
He studied dermatology as a resident at Baylor University Hospital in Houston, Texas and Duke University Medical School in Durham, N.C.
Dr. W. L. Coker, Jr. is a board certified dermatologist and opened his Hampton practice in 1970. He treats patients with all types of skin diseases and issues.
