Restylane
Photos
Restylane is a tissue filler that, unlike collagen, is non-animal
based and thus requires no allergy testing and carries no risk for
infectious disease transfer.
It has been used for nearly 20 years worldwide and recently became available
in the US after reaching the FDA's stringent criteria for safety and efficacy.
Restylane is pre-packaged and bought by the syringe to avoid risks of contamination
Our skin appears youthful and “plump” by collagen and
elastic fibers. Hyaluronic acid is another naturally
occurring material that binds water molecules and is critical to
the fullness and texture of youthful skin. With aging and cumulative
sun exposure these ingredients begin to deteriorate resulting in
loose, dry skin.

Restylane’s results last between
6 to 9 months, considerably longer than collagen. Touch
up treatments before the filler has been completely absorbed
enhances and lengthens the effect.

Restylane is composed of hyaluronic acid and is
used to help “fill in” facial
creases such as marionette lines (extending from the corner
of the mouth to the chin) or the nasolabial
fold (corner of the nose to the corner of the mouth). Restylane
is also popular for creating fuller lips, deminishing vertical
lip lines and elevating depressed scars, or adding definition
to the cheekbones.
