Associates in Dermatology, Inc. will be holding a free American Academy of Dermatology SPOTme™ skin cancer screening on May 9, 2016 from 3:30pm to 5:00pm.
“Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer and everyone is at risk, even those with darker skin colors,” said Dr. William L. Coker, Jr. “While skin cancer is highly treatable when caught early, it can be deadly. That’s why free screenings like this one are so important.”
Appointments are required for skin cancer screenings in order to make sure that all screenings will be able to be completed. Please contact our office at (757) 838-8030 in order make an appointment.
“Unlike other cancers, skin cancer can be detected by a dermatologist during a visual exam of your skin,” said Dr. Coker. “A skin cancer screening only takes a few minutes and it could save your life.”
SPOTme™ is the free skin cancer screening program of the American Academy of Dermatology. Since 1985, Academy dermatologists have conducted more than 2.4 million free skin cancer screenings and have detected nearly 238,000 suspicious lesions, including more than 26,500 suspected melanomas.
